Ripton Windows Ltd has been selling quality window and door products to customers through the South since 1996. However, the successful business was threatened by receipt of a Notice to Quit by their landlord, who intended to redevelop the building for a car dealership.

Forced into a situation where they had to vacate by a given date and with no alternative premises secured, they turned to Collins and Jarvis for help.

Initial meetings were held to determine the timescales involved, and what was and was not open to negotiation. Ripton was entitled to certain compensation and had rights under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954. Awareness and assertion of those rights put Ripton in to a position where, if they could not affect the final outcome, they were going to receive compensation and not be held for significant dilapidations liability.

A search for premises took place and a unit was identified within size and cost parameters set by the client.

Accompanied viewings of the new property were arranged and we dealt with all matters of negotiation, dealing with particular points of concern to the client and facilitating progress at every turn.

The new property was secured on favourable terms. Ripton moved in and now they thrive at a new location in Basingstoke, just a mile or two from where they were before.
